EPP Guide Training Program (GTP)

Are there any additional submission requirements to be considered for EPP's Guide Training Program?
If you are interested in expressing your readiness to become a certified EPP Guide, completion of the Community Builder form is a requirement.
In addition, we ask that you submit the following self-witnessing forms that were components of the Path to Freedom LMS course:
work - Invitation to Self-Witnessing #1
AtP Session 3 Homework - Self-Witnessing Invitation #2
If I already submitted my self-witnessing forms via the LMS link, do I have to resubmit?
No. You do not have to resubmit your self-witnessing forms if you have already submitted them via the LMS course link. If you would like to confirm submission of your PtF self-witnessing forms, please email us at [email protected].

What are the dates for the upcoming GTP?
GTP is a rigorous 8-week program that takes places in June and July. It is designed to prepare conscious individuals to deliver EPP’s compassionate curriculum to incarcerated persons in prisons and jails local to them.
We are able to support three cohorts in the June/July 2021 offering. As with 9P1K and PtF, you are invited to share your availability (in the Community Builder form) for all dates/times that work for you. We have selected dates/times that are reflective of diverse time zones and schedules.
Those selected to participate in the upcoming GTP are asked to commit to the following:
  • Two 3-hour live zoom gatherings per week;
  • Approximately 1-2 hours per week of homework and self-guided learning through EPP’s Learning Management System; and
  • 1-hour of small group work in “Pods” per week, which are supported by EPP Guides.

If I submitted my Community Builder and self-witnessing forms, am I guaranteed a space in GTP?
EPP is re-launching our Guide Training Program with a pilot class of approximately 30 people.

Indicating one’s readiness to become a certified EPP Guide does not guarantee selection to participate in the June/July offering of GTP.

We are considering a number of factors in assessing one’s readiness to become a guide, including the following:
  • Alignment with EPP’s vision, mission, values, and a willingness to adopt EPP’s values in day-to-day life, as well as a commitment to the inner work required to embody them;
  • Completion of all requirements, including PtF self-witnessing assessments;
  • Mindful consideration of the rigor of the GTP schedule and process in light of current life circumstances, including home life transitions, and other work obligations. Any other trainings they are completing such as other Enneagram certifications, coaching/meditation trainings etc. should be completed before the start of the GTP;
  • Capacity to hold a grounded presence, and self-regulate one’s emotions in real-time when activated/triggered;
  • Demonstration of a clear fluency in the Enneagram and a solid comprehension of concepts taught in 9P1K and PtF. Capacity to articulate them in an understandable manner, while weaving personal examples to bring the curriculum alive and make it relevant to the target audience;
  • Embodiment of a “beginner’s mind” and the willingness and readiness to be a student regardless of past experience or developmental level;
  • Commitment to inner work and to a regular spiritual practice.
  • Engaged and committed in a solid regimen of self-care to maintain and build capacity; and
  • Ability to understand and accept time limitations, and experience with successful time management.

What is the deadline for submitting my Community Builder and self-witnessing forms in order to be considered for the upcoming GTP?
All Community Builder forms are due by 11:59 pm PT Friday, April 30. If you would like to be considered for EPP's June/July Guide Training Program, you are also asked to submit your self-witnessing forms by 11:59 pm PT Friday, April 30.
You will be notified of the status of your enrollment in GTP on or before Saturday, May 22.

GTP orientation is Thursday, June 3, 12 - 1:30 pm PT.

Become an EPP Community Builder!

What is a Community Builder? Great question!
Community Builders are integral to EPP’s work to transform lives. Community Builders contribute to all aspects of EPP, including, but not limited to, the following: guiding inside prison and jail; administration; information technology; hospitality; research, coaching; translation; diversity, equity, inclusion, access & belonging; curriculum; communication; and fundraising.

Wow, amazing...are EPP Guides Community Builders?
Yes! Becoming an EPP Guide is one path to service within EPP. EPP Guides are Community Builders, and many Community Builders serve in multiple capacities within EPP.

Next Steps
The next step is to let us know in what ways you would like to contribute to advancing EPP's mission and vision in the world, and/or continue to do your own self-development work in community with EPP by completing the Community Builder form linked below.

This link is unique to you. Please do not forward this email to someone who is not you. If you have questions, we are here to support. Contact us at [email protected].
COMMUNITY BUILDER FORM
What if I don't want to be a Community Builder? Is there still a place for me at EPP?
YES! We understand that awakening to our true selves is a lifelong journey, and one that the Enneagram and EPP’s compassionate community is eager to support for everyone, everywhere. We are committed to supporting those on the path to self-discovery beyond 9PrisonsONEKey and Path to Freedom. If you are interested in continuing your learning in community with EPP, please indicate your interest (and share your ideas) on our Community Builder form.

Join our alumni community!

Now that you have completed EPP's 9P1K course, you will be invited to join us on SLACK as a member of our 9P1K alumni channel.
This is a space to continue to nurture ourselves and each other in relationship and compassionate community with those who have completed 9P1K.

This is also a space where EPP will share information about 9P1K alumni events!

EPP is now an IEA Accredited School!

EPP is celebrating  its establishnebt as an IEA Accredited School with the International Enneagram Association (IEA). As such, all EPP Guides are requested to submit an application for IEA Professional membership to the IEA within three years of certification beginning August 2021.
